A Legacy of Passion
Tradition, and Excellence

In the heart of Kerala, India, where the Western Ghats cradle the lush landscape and the air is thick with the aroma of spices and tea, a remarkable story began. Kerala is known as the epicenter of India’s spice trade, a land where spices like cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon flourish amidst the verdant hills. The state's rich history in tea cultivation began with the British in the late 19th century, transforming its wild tea plants into organized estates that thrive in the region's ideal climate. This tradition of excellence in agriculture and trade set the stage for a legacy that would shape Juleitin Foods.

Our story traces back to 1944, when our revered founder, Mr. P.J. Kurian, embarked on a remarkable journey in the heart of Kerala’s tea estates. At just twenty years old, Mr. Kurian began his career as a field officer at one of the renowned tea estates in Idukki. His dedication and passion for farming saw him rise through the ranks, eventually becoming a manager, a role he embraced until his retirement. Over the span of forty years, Mr. Kurian amassed unparalleled expertise in the nuances of agriculture—spanning administration, operation, production, quality control, planting, and cropping of diverse spices and tea. His extensive knowledge became the bedrock of his career and the foundation of his legacy. But Mr. Kurian’s connection to farming extended beyond tea estates. He also managed family-owned paddy lands in Kuttanadu, further honing his skills and deepening his understanding of Kerala’s agricultural traditions. His wisdom was not confined to his professional realm; it was a gift he shared with his family, passing on his knowledge and passion for farming to his sons and grandsons. In a bold move to expand his horizons, Mr. Kurian encouraged his descendants to pursue advanced studies abroad. This led to a melding of practical experience and theoretical knowledge, combining the rich agricultural traditions of Kerala with global insights. Inspired by his unwavering dedication and vision, his descendants founded Juleitin Foods in his honor—a tribute to Mr. Kurian’s lifelong commitment to excellence and sustainability.
